And this is why, at Shians Wellness Center, we encourage you to take good care of your gut. Here are some ways you can do to take care of your gut.

Lower your stress levels

High levels of stress is not good for your whole body, including your gut. You may lower your stress levels by doing activities like meditation, yoga, going for a walk, adopting a pet, hiking or even adrenaline rush activities

Get enough sleep

Not getting enough sleep can effect your gut health. Try to get at least 7–8 hours of quality sleep per night.

Chew slowly

Chewing your food slowly can give you full digestion and more absorption of nutrients. This may reduce digestive issue and encourages a healthy gut.

Drink more water

Staying hydrated has been proven to have a positive effect on the mucosal lining of the intestines, and on the balance of good bacteria in the gut. 

Consume a prebiotic or probiotic

Consuming a prebiotic or probiotic supplement may be a great way to increase your gut health. The objective of taking prebiotics is to provide “food” that is meant to promote the growth of good bacteria in the gut, while probiotics are live good bacteria. People with bacterial overgrowth, such as SIBO, should not take probiotics.

Change your diet

Reducing the intake of processed, high-sugar, and high-fat foods that you eat can give you better gut health. Also, eating plant-based foods and lean protein can improve your gut health. A high fiber diet has been proven to contribute to a healthy gut microbiome. – High Fiber Food – such as;
legumes, beans, peas, oats, bananas, berries, asparagus, and leeks, Garlic & Onion, Fermented Foods, and Collagen-boosting foods
