Many people struggle to meet the daily fiber requirement. In a world full of processed and instant food, it is very easy to miss this what we call a should-be regime. Some may say its expensive to be healthy, and some say, timing is an issue. However, it is actually not difficult to reach this goal. Here are some really easy things you can do to make sure your body is at the optimal level when it comes to fiber intake:


Prunes are easy to get at any supermarket, and it is very affordable. It comes in a ready-made pack, so no cutting, cooking or washing required! Keep a pack at home, in your car or even at the office so that they’re in your reach at all times!

2. Chickpeas

Chickpeas are delicious, easy to find and store. You can either buy the dried ones and boil them in your kitchen. Or if you’re always on-the-go, getting the canned ones is a good idea. Of course boiling your own is better for your health, but we totally understand if you don’t have the time to do it. Simply purchase canned chickpeas from off the shelves, drain the water out, run through tap water, store it in another container and simply put it the refrigerator.

3. Banana

Banana is a fantastic source of fiber. It is easy to get, easy to store and easy to eat. Many trainers advice their clients to take the whole of banana before going to the gym as it is also a good source of energy. 2 in 1, why not right?

4. Dark Chocolate

Good news, chocolate lovers! According to, ” There is a whopping 11 grams of fiber in a 100-gram bar of dark chocolate made from 70-85 percent cocoa. That comes out to 3 grams per 1-ounce serving—compare that to the 1.9 grams in a slice of whole grain bread. ” What else do you need when you already have chocolate?

5. Chia Seeds 

Now, this is also a practice for us at Shians Wellness Center. Our customers who have gone through a colon hydrotherapy session with us will be given a glass of lemon water with sprinkled of chis seeds to boost up their fiber intake. Chia seeds are now sold all over Malaysia at reasonable price. If you’re always on-the-go, you may purchase the ones in small packs, and keep them in your bag, and sprinkle them in your drink. Or else, you can make delicious chia seed pudding. Yummy!
